Here is the list of the comics I will be following by issue:
I’m also thinking about following
The comics I picked up this week from the new 52 are:
I was really looking forward to this week because of Superman and Teen Titans. I haven’t read all of these just yet, but have read most of them as of right now. I also picked up the variant cover for Batman #1 which looks amazing!
I will eventually write a review for each of these and slowly post them up.
DEMON KNIGHTS #1:
Written by PAUL CORNELL
Art by DIOGENES NEVES and OCLAIR ALBERT
Cover by TONY S. DANIELS
Review at a Glance: This was a very well done comic, and I enjoyed it a lot. The story was great, the art was great, and I will definitely be following this comic further. If you like fantasy stories, like Lord of the Rings, King Author, and even WoW, you will like this comic.
Good for New Readers?: Yes, this is a great comic to get into if you are a new reader, especially if you are in to Fantasy/Dark Ages. You don’t need to know any back story for this, and it introduces the characters in a smooth way. Also if your not into Superheos, or need a change of pace, I would still recommend this comic.
The comics I picked up from the new 52 this week are:
I also picked up Grifter #1, since I heard some good reviews about this one and wanted to try it out. I was looking for to this week because of these comics. Supergirl so far has to be my favorite. I know I haven’t been posting many reviews but I’ll to to put out more.
Written by J.H. WILLIAMS III and W. HADEN BLACKMAN
Art and cover by J.H. WILLIAMS III
Review at a Glance: I actually like this one a lot. I didn’t have any expectation going into this comic because I’ve never read anything about Batwoman or even hear that much about her. The art is great, probably the best I’ve seen in these new comics. And the story was easy to follow and has some interesting plot points and I can’t wait for the next issue. This is one of the comics I really want to follow.
Good for New Readers? I think this is a great comic for new readers. It gives you all the information you really need to know to move on, and it is spread out through out the comic and not given to you all at once. I would highly suggest this comic.

Bawoman #1 written by J.H. Williams III and Haden Blackman with Art by J.H. Williams III.
Review at a Glance: Very beautiful book. J.H. Williams III certainly knows how to make comics pretty. And what else is surprising is he can write! I was sad when Greg Rucka wasn’t set to pen the title since he made Batwoman so awesome in Detective Comics, but after reading the first issue, I’m sold. Pick it up if you can. Definitely a title everyone should follow.
Good for New Readers?: I’m not sure with this one. Since this was supposed to come out last September before DC even thought of a reboot, I felt it was written for fans of the character who knew Kate Kane already. They throw in Renee Montoya’s name, show an already existing relationship between Kate and Maggie Sawyer, and even have Bette who gets almost zero introduction this time around. However, I still highly suggest picking up Elegy by Greg Rucka to get caught up on Batwoman in order to follow this title. It’s that good.

I’ve been-guhh. Still bold.
Ok. Better.
I’ve been excited for Batwoman ever since it was announced she was getting her own title. I had the pleasure of reading every past adventure of Batwoman (she has been in 52, Detective Comics, several issues of Grant Morrison’s Batman related works). She’s been rumored to have her own title since forever but now it’s finally here after many a delay!
J.H. Williams III was the artist on Detective Comics when Batwoman starred in that title, while Greg Rucka, a renowned handled the writing portion. After Rucka’s recent departure from DC though, J.H. William’s now handles both responsibilities. He pulls it off very well, producing a comic with a breathtaking interior and a story that’ll draw someone right in.
There are so many parts I love: the villain, Bette Kane, the recognition of Kate’s relationship with Renee Montoya, Maggie Sawyer and her different attitudes toward Kate Kane and Batwoman, the appearance of a special someone showing up in the last panel. Looking at what I love, it actually turns out I basically love the whole book.
I also love William’s artwork. He uses a different style for Batwoman scenes than he does for Kate Kane scenes, painting a different mood for the personas of Kate/Batwoman. His splash pages are paneled unusually, but that helps make this book all the more unique and great to look at.
Final word: Get this. It really needs to be read. I mean, a Jewish lesbian who was kicked out of the military? Why wouldn’t it get picked up?!

Hey guys! Sorry I haven’t posted a review in a while. I’ve been pretty busy with real life stuff and will probably continue to be for the next couple of weeks. But do not fret my dear followers! I’ll try to write reviews in my rare spare time! :D
Thanks for following!

BATWOMAN. BATWOMAN. BATWOMAN.
Also, I noticed I’m following most of The Dark section of the 52.
The comics I picked up from the new 52 this week are:
I’ve read all of these already, and I really like Demon Knights, but didn’t like Legion Lost a whole lot. I’ll will probably do a review for both, and I’ll try to see if I can do more.
Hawk and Dove #1:
Written by STERLING GATES
Art and cover by ROB LIEFELD
Review at a Glance: Love the story. And its backdrop-ed in DC addressing current issues, like how stupid politics is. There are parts where I didn’t like the dialog, but despite that, this is another one of the comics I will be following.
Good for New Readers?: I don’t know if this is actually good for new readers. There still seems to be some background story to this that is mentioned, like the previous Dove, and the current Dove’s boyfriend, which I didn’t really understand right away.

Review at a Glance: This comic was interesting, but I don’t think this ones for me. I liked it, but I thought there was to many people to keep track of at the same time. There were a lot of super heroes introduced in this book, with out much background, and I didn’t find many of them that interesting either. I think I will give this one more issue before I decided to continue following this comic.
Good for new readers?: For some of the reasons I stated above, I don’t think this is a good comic for new readers. But it also depends on if you like the idea of having about 9 heroes in the story line, all kind of thrown at you.

Justice League International #1 by Dan Jurgens with Art by Aaron Lopresti and Matt Ryan.
Review at a Glance: It’s a fun book that made me chuckle a bit and had pretty nice art that was clean and colorful. The writing could have been a little better, though. Luckily for Jurgens, I enjoyed it enough
Good for New Readers?: I definitely think so. I knew of these characters before the reboot but (with the exception of Booster Gold and Batman) never had the chance to read them. Readers are introduced to a slew of characters that all meet for the first time and form a new superhero team; basically, this is an origin story for the JLI. And what’s better for a new reader? A brand new team.
